The following statement from former President Jimmy Carter, who will turn 91 in October, was just released by the Carter Center in Atlanta:
“Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body. I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare. A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week.”
Last week, the Carter Center had disclosed the the former president had undergone elective surgery to remove a small mass in his liver. The report also stated that Jimmy Carter also had Cancer in other parts of his body. Carter recently finished a nationwide tour for his latest book, called “A Full Life: Reflections at 90,” in which he noted a history of pancreatic cancer in his family. His father, brother and two sisters all died from the disease, he wrote, and his mother had it as well.
Jimmy Carter, a peanut farmer who became Georgia’s governor, defeated Republican Gerald Ford in 1976 to become the nation’s 39th president. He established a national energy policy and brokered a landmark peace deal between Israel and Egypt. But the end of his one term in the White House was marred by an energy crisis and an Iranian hostage standoff.
He lost the 1980 election to Republican Ronald Reagan and returned to Georgia. In the 35 years since, he has won the Nobel Peace Prize and logged millions of miles and visited dozens of countries on missions to monitor the globe to promote voting rights, settle conflicts, advocate for human rights and fight deadly diseases such as malaria.
Dr. Len Lichtenfeld, the deputy chief medical officer for the Atlanta-based American Cancer Society, said the physicians treating Carter will typically first determine what kind of cancer he has and where it originated. They next will determine how to treat it.
It’s more of a challenge in somebody who is 90 years old. But they can have surgery, they can have radiation, and they can have chemotherapy,” said Lichtenfeld. “It really depends on the physical capacity of the individual, not how many years they have on the calendar…
Please say a prayer for him and his family… Cancer is no respecter of persons and can happen to anyone at anytime. My best advise to help prevent and avoid cancer at all costs is this… Only eat what God intended for our body to have like Raw Vegetables, Fruits, nuts of any kind, grains and seeds. This is what the human body was designed for fuel, not processed foods we have on the market today. Would you put water in your cars fuel tank? No! It would not take long to get sick and find it in the garage for treatment…
If you or someone you know have Cancer, go to google and search out Cancer Cures… as well as youtube. You may just find something that will Cure your Cancer rather than go through Chemo, pain and suffering. Chemo Kills more people than the Cancer itself, and according to Dr Doug Kaufmann, Cancer may be linked to fungus itself, and looks like it under a microscope! Google his name as well to find some very helpful information.
Be blessed my friends
