Cancer is Devastating No Matter How Big or Small

After that 2 hour phone call I was just beside myself, did not know what to think and just bowed my head and said some prayers. There is nothing like getting a phone call with devastating news. My son had just got the news from his mother after weeks of testing and painful events … She Had Cancer. I love what the founders of this great organization are doing here because it can be a great gathering place for people to share their stories and give hope. This is the first I have ever seen of a Thrift Store Donations for Cancer program, and we need more of them, so please donate to this worthy cause. According to the American Cancer Society, There will be more than 231,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in U.S. women in 2015. This does not count all the other forms of cancer. The Mother of my 3 grown boys was diagnosed with a rare liver Cancer about 3 years ago in 2011. We were devastated to say the least. I am so thankful she had insurance, however it did not cover everything. I watched her struggle over the 3 years she fought this dreadful disease. She lost her home, a brand new Camero and many more things. We set up a funding page for her so we could get more natural treatment rather that depend on chemo therapy. We raised some but not nearly enough. Id love to Bragg on an individual that donated to this cause, however he asked me not to mention his name … But he is an awesome man and loves helping people. He donated the most. Terri was a great woman, loved her family and her grandchildren so much, it was hard watching her suffer. She fought the good fight of faith with every breath. She spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital it was un real. About 1 1/2 years into her battle… I got another devastating call from My Son, the one who told me about his mother. He too has been diagnosed with Cancer… So now not one but 2 people I love and adore had this awful disease. His was testicular. After 2 surgery’s and many days of chemo, pain and suffering, his went into remission… Praise the Lord. As of this writing, he is still Cancer Free, however we lost his mother. She had been placed in a Hospice House Hospital and over stayed her time by 7 days… She was a fighter until…. Her Doctors had talked my Son and her current husband into letting them dope her up a little more, said she needed the rest. She was gone within 24 hours. So Could the medical industry have slowly killed her? Great Question. This same thing happened to my Grandmother. When people are fighting, I say let them fight. The medical industry has killed more people and get away with it. Sad but true. She would have been better off going home to rest, maybe she would be alive today. Only God the Father knows. It saddens my heart to write this blog post because it brings out memories of her suffering as well as my son, however I hope this post will help someone that has a similar situation in their life. Cancer is devastating no matter how big or small and can wipe out years of savings and even retirement just to satisfy big Pharma. Its a shame that we live in such a technological society that we can not come up with a cure for Cancer, yet the medical industry is taught to treat, not to cure. There is no Money in CURE, it’s all in treatment. I read a recent article that said “More people die from the treatment and chemo therapy then the Cancer itself” I believe every word of that statement. It’s good people like Thrift For Cancer that has taken a stand, donate to needed family’s that have become bankrupt from medical corruption, over priced treatments and medications, just to make Money. I’m not saying all treatment kills… But the odds are for sure against us. Please donate what ever you can and let’s all take a stand in helping those we love live life a little longer and a little more comfortable. Come back often, I love to write and will post more helpful content as time goes by. David Guinn
